Investing in our workforce to build on strong end to 2022

Paragon Toolmaking is looking to build on a successful end to 2022 by recruiting for new and experienced toolmakers to join a team which designs, builds and distributes industry-leading products across the world.

It comes as the company, established in Hull in 1969, seeks to maintain the momentum of a year which saw it work on contracts with leading manufacturers and first-tier suppliers, particularly within the automotive and construction industries.

Paragon made headlines in 2022 when its expertise and experience was sought out to design and manufacture bespoke tools to produce the required parts for Cadillac’s new flagship electric vehicle, one of the most eagerly-awaited new car models on the global market.

With increasing work volumes to manage, investment was made in the second half of 2022 into specialist new machinery, ensuring the business continues to operate one of most modern and well equipped tool rooms in the UK.

Now, investment is being put into developing the highly-skilled workforce, with Paragon seeking experienced toolmakers to ensure it not only fulfils the current demand, but is also well placed to build on the recent momentum.

‘A great career in UK manufacturing’

“We are a company which takes huge pride in our success in developing and training our own staff and offering a great career in UK manufacturing,” said General Manager Kevin Batty.

“We have many long-serving and much valued employees who have progressed through the business, many who joined as Apprentices. In fact, around 60% of our current workforce learned their craft through our Apprenticeship programme which we run in conjunction with Humberside Engineering Training Association Ltd (HETA).

“However, given the sophisticated and challenging nature of work we have in our order book at present, and the demand on our factory floor, we now need to recruit experienced toolmakers, and we believe it is a great time to join us.

“Given we provide a service from concept stage, right through design to manufacture and sample production, we offer the chance to become involved in many interesting projects, and to learn many new skills.

“Our work is all about providing highly designed, precision engineered solutions to many of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers within the automotive, aerospace, white goods, pharmaceutical and medical industries.

“We’re immensely proud of what we do day in, day out, and as Hull company with more than 50 years history, we want to continue flying the flag for the manufacturing sector in the city.”

Parts manufactured by bespoke tools designed and manufactured by Paragon Toolmaking are used by the likes of Rolls Royce, Land Rover, Siemens, Aston Martin, Ideal Boilers and Swift Caravans.
